Lincoln MP Karl McCartney became shareholding member Number 1 of Birchwood Area Community Land Trust. At an official launch ceremony on 16th February 2017, Karl bought the first £1 share and then went on to buy a further 10 shares for his family.
BACLT was created by Birchwood Big Local and continues to develop its plans for community ownership of land and housing in the Birchwood area of Lincoln.
