The office is a new venture for Birchwood Big Local and will be open for residents to come and find out how their projects are being progressed, and to say what they think about them. Eddie says “We are very excited about this new venture; we hope that it will increase resident involvement and participation in Big Local projects. Birchwood Big Local is here for the local community and we want to ensure their voices are heard”
A presentation was given that highlighted Birchwood Big Local’s current projects and future aspirations.
Diamond Park, Staverton Crescent is currently being transferred into the ownership of Birchwood Big Local. Once this has happened, new play equipment and environmental improvements will take place to get the Park open and back in use.
Future aspirations include developing a community led housing scheme and improved green space on Jasmin Green, and developing a community garden and other facilities at Melbourne Community Park.
There are lots of exciting plans in the pipeline that residents will be easily able to access at their local office in Birchwood shopping centre and Birchwood Big Local look forward to welcoming residents at their new office
