Community Land Trusts were top of the agenda at a conference organised and hosted by LCLT. Around 60 delegates came along to the New Life Conference Centre in Sleaford to hear a range of speakers and take part in specialist workshops. Speakers included:

– Karl McCartney, MP for Lincoln
– Colin Davie, Executive Councillor Lincolnshire County Council
– Hannah Fleetwood, National CLT Network
– Steve Colby, Chairman Pinchbeck CLT Ltd

Wilsford CLT ran a workshop to illustrate the highs (and lows!) of setting up a CLT and developing affordable homes for local people. Local Authority and Housing Association staff attended a workshop run by Lincolnshire Rural Housing Association and Westleigh Developments on the benefits of partnering with local CLTs. Landowners heard from Smiths Gore about how releasing land for affordable housing can benefit communities as well as the landowner.
The conference also launched the opportunity for the public and organisations that support CLTs to become members of LCLT.
We are grateful for the kind support of Lincolnshire Co-Op and Smiths Gore which enabled us to host this free to attend event.
